I love this! Vocal warm-ups are so important, yet so easy to forget about, even for me, and I'm a speech therapist, so I've had to study this stuff! If you want any tips, ever, with ideas for vocal exercises and such, or even just some good accounts to follow, I've got you (though I'm sure you have plenty of people on your team who fulfill that purpose) <3

Hi Meredith-- oh my goodness I would LOVE tips!! I could use any help/motivation I can get. :) And I'm sure other vocalists on FTR would appreciate as well. Thanks so much for the thought!

Thank you for the response! And that's a very good point, this is a space for sharing! I'll just give you all my favorite tip then: hum! Humming, lip trills (aka raspberries), tongue trills... these are all types of semi-occluded vocal tract exercises and they help train better resonance and take pressure off of your throat. Hum some pitch glides up and down your register and that should help! You can also do pitch glides while blowing bubbles through a boba straw into a cup of water, but that's a whole other level of the thing. Let me know if you have any other questions, Thao and other vocalists! <3

Meredith thank you so much for this! Am very glad to be reminded of humming and trills and have never tried blowing bubbles(for these purposes) gotta remember that on tour!

Nicely done, Thao. Now, the question is, do you Double Dutch? Because I'm looking for someone to round out my team for the championships.

Beyond late, but never too late to start. Just now reading your June newsletter at the end of July. Today is “July 23rd”. That's “What Laura Says, Thinks, and Feels.”

Miss you as if you were still single. Well done Ms, Thao. Or shall I say, Mrs Thao. Either way, I Miss and Misses you.

Hy vọng mọi điều cùng tốt. Hẹn gặp lại!

(hope everything is good. See you later)

P.s. I wonder if you still have that painting when we gifted for you before the show?
