Watch now (1 min) | Hello All! This St. Louis show also happened to be my birthday and my amazing band and crew surprised me onstage with maximum birthday accoutrements and paraphernalia, replete with a tiara. Was my first time with a tiara. Above you see Becca Mancari, whose band is on tour with us, carrying the cake.
Random comment not related to that show (though saw you in Cincinnati, which was great). Like many children of the 70’s I grew up with the 3 in 1 stereo (8-track, turntable and tuner) then graduated in early adulthood to a real system of components incl. CD player and decent speakers. And slowly I have devolved in middle age to a digital experience of iPhone and AirPods listening to compressed files over streaming services. Was reading yesterday a debate about CD versus vinyl, which debate agreed of course that both are far superior to compressed digital files. I reflected on that, plus the economics of me listening to all these artists on Amazon for 120 per year, for which you get paid not much. So I went to a local store and bought Temple on CD. Driving around in my Camry listening to it, I heard so many things I have been missing on my air pods. I am resolving to do more to reward myself and artists by acquiring the music I love in a better format for all of us.
