Hello!
To remind herself of an important thing, my friend Colby’s mom always says “Remember to remember ( important thing ).”
Like all things worth while, album making can be a true slog.
What keeps me going:
-Taking breaks to make hot drinks
-Creating moments in new songs that I am excited to perform live and in communion with you all
- Remembering performances I’ve loved, to tap into the feeling and rev the engine, which leads me to remembering to remember:
Newport Folk Festival 2024! Was such a gift to hang out for the weekend and perform there.
This was a festival kick off party at Newport Blues Cafe, curated by my friends in Illiterate Light. They asked me to join and what covers I might want to do and you know for a fact I asked if we could try Billy Swan’s version of Don’t Be Cruel.
Illiterate Light (Jake Cochran on drums,Jeff Gorman on Guitar) Charlie Glenn: Keys, Liz Cooper: guitar/ vox, Andrew Carper: Bass
Rehearsing “Show Me” which will be on the new album. We are in the living room of our our rental house with Liz Cooper and Al Olender, whom I’d just met that weekend. I asked them to join our set because they are fantastic vocalists. We had only this one rehearsal. You can see how thrilled I am hearing them because I’m an excited little animal trying to crawl and nestel into their vocal vibrations. You can hear my management team Sean and Sophia clapping and cheering at the end because they are so sweet/ have to.
Band: Charlie Glenn- Keys, Micayla Grace - Bass, Jason Slota Drums, Al Olender, Liz Cooper- vox
SHOW DAY:
Oh my goodness look how utterly beyond I am that we had a horn section:
