An Emergency Dispatch from Occupied Minneapolis: "Intense, Frightening, Surreal and Inspiring."
Hello all-
I wanted to hear more about what was happening in Minneapolis at length to help ground what I’m seeing in clips. Maybe you want or need that as well? I don’t know about you but when I’m panicked and heartsick it really helps me to listen to movement organizers and facilitators speak in calm even tones about what is truly happening on the ground, what we can do, what we definitely should not do, and what has already been happening for ages.

I have such love in my heart for Minneapolis, always a gift to get to visit and perform there. It has always been one of my favorite cities to tour through and learn from. Thinking of everyone there who is showing up and showing out regardless of the very real fear they feel. Such remarkable examples of community and organizing happening there and in so many other cities, showing us what it will take in every city.
Much gratitude to How to Survive the End of the World Podcast hosted by Autumn Brown and adrienne maree brown (you can support their work here) and my friend Merrill for bringing their voices into my life.

Brilliant recommendation. There's somthing deeply grounding about hearing organizers articulate what action actually looks like in real-time chaos rather than performative panic. I've been relying on similar voices to filter signal from noise in crisis moments.
Thank you sharing this powerful conversation. Yes to all of it and much power and love to the people of Minnesota.
We need each other. Writing from Philly/Camden Nj. Ice is nonstop. Our only choice right now is be fully human in the face of inhumanity. Organize, organize, organize.
